BMW really came to be recognised as producers of performance saloons after the formation of their famous M Division in the 1970’s and a real game changer for them was the launch of the E30 M3 in 1986 which went on to gain numerous championship victories in touring car racing. One of the first exhausts Scorpion developed was their own performance exhaust for the E30 M3 and at the same time Scorpion introduced the legendary DTM tailpipe to the UK market. Road-Test Review:

During our road test, we extensively evaluated our half system paired with the single mid-pipe under real-world driving conditions. We found no intrusive drone, and the cabin environment remained audibly refined, offering excellent daily drivability.

However, everything changed when Sport mode was engaged, and the throttle applied. The system unleashed its full, unrestricted soundtrack, delivering a tantalizing array of sounds during downshifts, gear changes, and varied throttle applications. This was accompanied by a thrilling "orchestra of chaos" as the revs climbed, resulting in a truly authentic M-car soundtrack.

Half System:

Does our system retain valve functionality? Yes! Drivers can continue to control the car's soundtrack via the mode select button inside the car. This allows the ECU to modulate the sound levels emitted from your Scorpion exhaust.

Once installed, the acoustically tuned silencers — featuring specialised, unique internals (on systems equipped with mid-silencers or backboxes) — and precision CNC mandrel-bent pipework enable the exhaust system to expel engine gases more efficiently. This results in enhanced power delivery, sharper throttle response, and reduced curb weight, thanks to the full stainless-steel construction. Tailpipe Styles:

Ascari: Our premium sport option, available exclusively in a matte carbon finish, highlights the distinctive sporty carbon weave. Its two-piece floating construction, with an inner brushed stainless-steel insert, allows hot gases to pass through without discolouring or weakening the outer carbon fibre shell.

Daytona: This design needs no introduction, the classic Scorpion Daytona slash-cut style with a modern twist on a timeless look. The Daytona is a great-looking option for everything from hot hatchbacks to flagship autobahn saloons.

Tailpipe Finishes:

Polished: Premium T304 stainless steel polished trims undergo a meticulous multi-step buffing process, resulting in a long-lasting, mirror-like finish that stays shining. (Available for Daytona trim only.)

Black Ceramic: The matte black finish provides a stealthy, modern look. The tailpipes undergo a specialised coating process, ensuring a durable and flawless finish. (Available for Daytona trim only.)

OEM Centre Silencer Delete with X-Pipe:

What benefits does an OEM centre silencer delete with an X-pipe provide? This pipework removes the factory resonator, which is designed to mute your exhaust. By removing the centre silencer, you'll experience a more aggressive sound and a slight reduction in weight.

Additionally, its interlinked X-pipe design promotes equal pressure between the two system lengths, allowing exhaust gases to be expelled from the cylinders more efficiently: boosting overall flow and performance capacity.

Single Mid Pipe:

What benefits does a single mid pipe provide? This setup is our “full-firepower” option, engineered to deliver maximum flow through a chamber-like length of pipework that connects the two system sections for most of its run.

The result? The large-bore 89.9mm/3.5" pipe significantly improves turbo spool, drastically boosts — easy to obtain performance, and produces an aggressive, thunderous exhaust note with unique acoustic characteristics — impossible to replicate without the single mid pipe.

Front Crossover Pipe:

No compromises with our crossover pipe — what are the benefits? Complete your setup or choose a standalone upgrade with our front crossover pipe. Replace the restrictive OEM section and unlock improved torque, peak power, and sharper throttle response.

Compatible with both the Scorpion X-pipe section and OEM pipework. (Not compatible or required when installing the single mid pipe.)

Sports Cat: Equipped with high-performance sports catalysts featuring a 200-cell honeycomb design. This precision lattice structure offers significantly improved exhaust gas flow compared to the dense, high cell-count OEM catalysts. Emissions-conscious drivers can tune their vehicles while maintaining some level of control. Keep in mind that catalysts are most effective at their optimal operating temperature — not when cold.

De-Cat: Removes the catalyst entirely, allowing for maximum exhaust flow with no backpressure concerns — ideal for extreme high-horsepower builds. The purpose-built, smooth-bore design ensures optimal gas flow without the restrictions of a catalytic converter.
